Resilience, a proactive approach: ULO answering to COVID-19

In just few months the unthinkable has happened for business, education, healthcare and social interactions. The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has brought scenarios that we didn’t expected to experience affecting all citizens worldwide in different ways. As we all go through this reality, the biggest impact comes from adapting our way of thinking, socializing and working. We can see how a massive change can affect the world around us and our lives but is our mission to figure out how to harness this by excelling with proactive attitudes that make us stand out from others.

The wave of changes that we are enduring is providing us a great amount of information when it comes to understanding the resilience of our business and our people in ULO Systems. We are making conscious and effective efforts to keep working together with our customers  demonstrating our commitment and engagement.

Remaining agile, preserving the ability to adapt to the rapid changes being introduced every day and teaming up with our customers have been the best practices that we ULO Systems maintain now more than ever. When talking with our customers our approach is focused in ensuring that our offering is well suited to react to the current challenges. Common goal clarity and abundant communication have been keys for this.

Without any doubt, current situation has led our customers to adjust the planning of the projects, this with the aim to meet the necessary safety unprecedented measures, sometimes rethinking operational logistics, supply chain synchronization and right timings, and sometimes even cancellations or delays in projects. Having conversations on the challenges they are facing, approaching our customers with a listening ear, getting a good understanding of their current situation, and coming up with solutions together allocating resources accordingly is a crucial way to liaise efforts and coordinate the steps forwards.

Certainly our resilient attitude maintains us focused on the horizon, anticipating the scenarios that are likely to emerge and develop the strategies together with our customers that will define the success of the projects.

In line with these changes, remote management and working from home have been inevitable for many companies – not excluding our main clients, suppliers and ourselves. Having our clients working from home has forced us to revisit just about every aspect of how we conduct business. Ultimately, although there have been changes in society and how we interact, business fundamentals and marketing strategies remain very much the same. We in ULO Systems smart quickly pivoted to the new normal, and took into considerations ways to shift our approach to continue to produce results adopting new positive ways of thinking and changing the momentum of how we do business. We believe that shaping strategies can become a significant source of new value creation emerging from unanticipated crises. Isn’t just about acquiring business, but also to collaborate to ensure success as a collective whole. We are definitely stronger together.

Working remotely under these circumstances means adapting to a new environment, including the use of video platforms for meetings for example, which definitely have opens up possibilities to continue communications. In general, the use of technology and virtual communication have been a welcomed change, and although we miss the social aspect of shaking a hand, where body language and eye contact are significant in face to face meetings, we have found that the current situation helps get right down to business which we consider as a silver lining to COVID-19. In addition to restricting travel and cancelling large events, visits to  premises have been also regulated, but this has not prevented us to be in direct and sustained contact with our customers. We have experienced that working remotely with our clients has been very effective when we restructure the processes for how communication happens, how socialization happens, and how coordination happens. However, face to face coffees, even with initial social distancing, will remain a primary in our catalogue as time allows and we move to the post-COVID-19.

With this approach, we in ULO Systems adapt ourselves to the circumstances to keep moving forward with our clients and create together even more value while emerging stronger.
